2.1 MAC Lipstick Finisher

Some of MAC lipsticks provides little color, while some provide much color. Some may be completely matte and some are shimmer. This has something to finish on lipstick - and it's MAC finish of this post is about.

.... Before you buy a MAC lipstick is a bit wise to know what the different finishes means, because then you can easily find a lipstick that you know you will be happy with.

MAC has 9 different lipstick finishes and those are:

  • Amplified
  • Amplified Creme
  • Creme Heen
  • Dazzle
  • Frost
  • Glaze
  • Lustre
  • Math
  • Satin

.... And what the different finishes means you get to know here:

Satin
This is a lipstick that does not dry out your lips but gives little moisture. It is well pigmented, so
it provides plenty of color. Satin is a bit dull, but at the same time gives a slightly glossy finish.

Matte:
It is well situated in the word? This is a completely matte finish, that is no glossy finish or
something like that. It can feel a little dry out the lips and some brands that it can dry out your lips. It is well-pigmented.

Creme Heen:
This is my favorite of the finish of the MAC. It feels creamy and soft on the lips,
it also provides moisture to the lips. They have a shimmrende finish and is strongly pigmented.

Frost:
Lipstick with frost finish is very shimmrende. The less pigmented than
matt and satin, so I would say that this is medium pigmented.

Lustre:
Lustre finish is small to medium pigmented. They give more of a glossy wet finish with
hint of color. They are more like a lipgloss in lipstick form.

Glaze:
Glaze is the lipstick that has the least color, it makes even less color
than the Lustre provides. This is just a little hint of color but with a glossy finish.

Amplified:
Amplified finish is well pigmented, it is reminiscent of Satin finish page
it is matte, but just a little rich glossy finish.

Amplified Creme:
It has a creamy consistency, good, giving a matte with a little glossy finish.
Feels moisturizing on the lips.

Dazzle:
This is the latest finish to MAC - This is a very shimmrende lipstick, this
is dazzleglass in lipstick form = full of shimmer and glitter. Has a medium pigmented color.

2.2 MAC Blush Finisher

As with its MAC lipsticks have powder blush to MAC also different finishes. Now there are 5 different finishes you can find the MAC stores. And this post is an explanation of what the different is.

The different finishes are:

  • Frost
  • Math
  • Satin
  • Sheertone
  • Sheertone Shimmer

.... And here's some more info about each finish:

Sheertone
These blush is not as pigmented as the others finish - It is well bit in the word "Sheer".
Although blush gives off little color so it will appear on the skin, the colors are dull.

Satin
Satin blusher has no major glitter-/shimmerbiter, it is more matte, but provides a wealth alike kind
shine and glow to the skin. It is well-pigmented.

Sheertone shimmer
It is similar to that sheertone - It is not very pigmented, but it has shimmer in it. You get a great glow
face using this product.

Frost
Have lots of shimmer and shine in themselves. It almost has a slightly metallic finish up and it is medium to
well-pigmented. Great if you want a little glow to your cheeks.

Math
A completely matte blush, it is well pigmented and intense.

2.3 MAC Eyeshadow Finisher

Same as with MAC's lipsticks and blusher also eye shadows MAC different finishes. And are you going out to shop MAC eyeshadows because there can be some useful to know what the different finishes means in advance

You get MAC eyeshadows in 8 different finishes - everything from very shimmrende to the mat and little to highly pigmented colors. And the finish is 9:

  • Frost
  • Math
  • Matte ²
  • Satin
  • Lustre
  • Velux Pearl
  • VELUX
  • Velvet

And ...... here's a little about what the different finishes means:

Frost
Have lots of shimmer in it, is medium pigmented. Great to use high lighters

Math
Located well in some word? It has a matte finish and are well pigmented.

Satin
They have a matte finish, but gives allikevell a kind of shine from him - No shimmer, but a little shine.

Velux Pearl
Silky smooth and very pigmented colors - has a metallic shine and shimmer in it.

Lustre
This finish has the most shimmer and glitter in it. It is not so pigmented, so it gives off little color.

Velvet
Small to medium pigmented - feels soft on the skin has a little shimmer in it.

Matte ²
Also has a matte finish, as "Matte" earlier in this post. It will have a more intense and more pigmented color than "mat", but for me they are the same - both are well-pigmented.

VELUX
Silky eye shadow that is finely ground, almost like mineral powder. It's almost like Velux Pearl just less metallic.

2.4 MAC Lip Gloss Finisher

Until now you have read about eyeshadow finishes, lipstick and blush finishes finishes - And now comes the last post about finishes, namely gloss finishes.
It may be useful to know what the different gloss finish of means so that you do not go on a blunder when shopping Lipgloss - For all are not equal, MAC has in fact 5 different finishes that include:
  • Dazzleglass
  • Tinted Lipglass
  • Creme Heen
  • LusTreGlasS
  • Plushglass

.... And here's some more info about each finish:

Dazzleglass
Is it seigest and most sticky lipgloss of the all, it has lots of glitter. It can feel a bit grainy on the lips. Have hint of color, but most glitter. Comes with brush applicator.

Tinted Lipglass
A lip gloss with little color and lots of shine, some may have a slightly "metallic shine" in it and. They are moisturizing and contains jojoba oil that makes your lips soft and comfy. Can feel a bit sticky on the lips, but not fully so sticky that Dazzle. Comes with a doe-foot applicator

Creme Heen glass
Creamy and milky ipgloss, almost no glitter in it but gives a nice shine. They are medium pigmented and gives color to the lips which is good to be a lip gloss. Is not full so sticky, but a little. Comes with a doe-foot applicator

LusTreGlasS
Have a little shine / pearl shimmer in it, is medium pigmented so it gives off color on the lips. LusTreGlasS has the finest of lipgloss they all called Love Nectar. Comes with brush applicator.

Plushglass
This lip gloss is supposed to plump your lips - something it does I think, it has a very weak effect.
It is small to medium pigmented and has a little shimmer in it. It also contains Vitamin E to protect lips. Comes with a doe-foot applicator

3.1 What does NC, NW, N, and C?

I have received many questions about what NC and NW means and what foundations to use the "this and that" the tone. Here is a small explanation of the nuances - Hope you do not get confused.

Because you can actually get some slightly mad and confused MACs name choice on Foundations. They call yellow undertone for C meaning Cool - But why "cold" when yellow is actually a warm color??

The answer MAC has given me is that they use Artist Color Wheel - Although it does not explain why they have reversed the colors so I'll explain them told me after I kept asking them "stupid" questions.

Here's what the different means and what undertone them are:

NC = Neutral Cool (yellow-beige undertone)

C = Cool (yellow, olive undertone)

N = Neutral (beige undertone)

NW = Neutral warm (pink-beige undertone)

W = Warm (pink undertone).
It is a little confusing is that yellow is warm undertone, but with MAC's yellow labeled as C (cool = cold). And pink is cool undertone, but with MAC is marked as W (warm = hot). Quite the opposite, in other words, and this would I get more out of, so I sport a MAC makeup artist:

Answer: Because we use an artist's color wheel, where yellow is cold and hot pink.
Me: But is it wrong that yellow is hot and cold pink then? It is at least as I have learned that it is.
Answer: No, but this is true only in the MAC, we have a little opposite. Only our foundation / products that are labeled such.
Me: So a "MAC thing"?
Answer: Yes, but just remember that NC is yellow and NW is pink.
Me: One can therefore call it NC = Not Cool, and NW = not warm?
Answer: Yes, you can also see it that way :)

So you can imagine that NC means "Not cool" and is for those with yellow undertones and NW "not warm" and is for those with pink undertones.

What do the numbers mean??

The numbers (eg in NC 20) means whether it is light or dark - 15 is lightest, 55 is darkest.

The products that use only C or N have numbers 1-9. Where one logical enough is lightest and can be compared with 15, and the two can be compared to 20 to 25 in NC / NW products. Face & Body foundation uses this numbering. Example: I am NC20 in Studio Fix Fluid, but C2 in Face & Body.

3.2 Viva Glam products

In 1994, MAC introduced its first Viva Glam lipstick and in 1997 came the other. This was a huge success and they raised a lot of money going HIV / AIDS research. Here's some info about Viva Glam fund.

Recently, both Cindy Lauper and Lady Gaga face of Viva Glam own collections. Other celebrities who have fronted Viva Glam is, among others, Pamela Andersson and Fergie.

MAC Tests on animals?

MAC is a brand that does not support animal testing and has for several years been at Petas pet friendly list. But over the past year there have been many different speculation about MACs its policy against animal testing. The truth is that unfortunately the MAC's products tested on animals, but only in China where it is mandatory animal testing for cosmetics.

This is no MAC wants and not something they can control when the country's rules. This means that there are several cosmetics brands that test on animals, also marks the so-called animal-friendly in other countries. MAC does not test its products on animals in countries other than China and is therefore seen as an animal-friendly products. Here is a small excerpt from MAC's explanation for why they suddenly became labeled as a brand that tests on animals:

"MAC has a longstanding policy to NOT test on animals, nor ask others two test on our behalfe, except when required by law. "

In short, tests MAC not their products on animals elsewhere in the world, Europe, USA and the like, only in China where it is required.
